Happy Mother's Day

2 comment(s)

Happy Mother's day to every wonderful mommy and mom-to-be out there. You know that even the wealth of the world can’t replace a mother’s love for her child. We all know that a mother carries the child in her womb for more than nine months, the real thing is she actually carries him in her heart for the rest of her life!

By the way, this is my first post for the year 2012 and I feel like I had missed a lot of things. I shall start writing something here on the blog. It's been a great first three-years of being a mother and I just won't stop here :)

My Temporary Monitor

2 comment(s)

is our TV. I've been working on my old PC since my laptop crashed about 4 months ago (which is one of the reasons why I don't get the mood to blog). I had donated my old monitor to my little in-laws, of course I don't dare to take it back. lol. Why bother buying a new one when I'm saving some money to get a new motherboard for the laptop and when I have this bigger screen - wide enough to see a tiny pixel.

I've been Busy

I've been busy enjoying the holiday, actually. It's Gawai Dayak festival here in Sarawak. Sheraz has been busy as well, working on his laptop and ALWAYS trying to work on something so that I can be involved in his activities. I know, all he wants is attention.

Last weekend he was down with fever for almost 4 days in a row. So I don't mind if he 'disturbs' me, as long as he's happy. And I'm glad that he's back being active now.

Kek Lapis Sarawak

Sayang Sarawak mood, due to the election, is over. Everyday news was about Sarawak. Now I just want to bring back the mood :D

So this is kek lapis sarawak (these photos may not look pretty enough). Pictures taken a few days before heading to Penang, we did go out hunting for kek lapis as gifts from Kuching. I don't know how to bake one, the easiest way is to get it instant. They sell it every where :)

On a different note, the baby Sheraz turned 19 months old last week. Haven't updated on him in a while.

Family Logo?

I just changed a bit of this blog's graphic. Not a new layout though because I'm pretty much liking it. I updated the what I say our little Family Logo.

This is the first one I created. The silhouette is our own body outline, except for the pram.

This is the new one. I omitted the pram since Sheraz is no longer little. So I introduced his own outline. This intentionally will be updated from time to time. When Sheraz is getting bigger and taller this logo will be changed as well.

Updates will also include the new comers. lol.

Fifa World Cup 2010

Not that I'm a fan of football. Everyone (say, most people) has been talking about football these days. I used to watch, I just like it. But I'm not a fan.

I was wondering about these tall tough men, running on the field, struggling just to get one single ball. Yet there are people who fight their sleepiness just to watch it. Hello, not a group of people, it's the whole world watching it, okay! LOL.

Now I wonder why they say it GILA BOLA.

Just a random thought.

By the way, see the World Cup 2010 logo. Even though it has a bit of unnecessary detail but it's a nice vibrant design anyway.

Where are you, Bunda?

Sheraz is 8 months, 3 weeks and 5 days old

If this is a so called Bunda's Journal and Sheraz happens to read this one day, he would probably notice why there's a quite long interval of not making any update. Well Sheraz, this is what bunda has to say.

I love you. No news might be good news. So don't worry, sayang.

I hate to say I'm busy or tired or just lacking of time. I mean, I just can say another boring uninteresting excuses. But Sheraz, to be frank why bunda hasn't been blogging as often as before is because:

I can sleep very early at night. Well as early as 9 p.m. It was started the other day when you were awake right when I was about to sleep after spending my time on the Internet which usually finishes at 12 - 1 a.m. You asked me to play along until morning. And that did happen a few times, coincidentally right after my online time. So now mostly when I manage to get you to sleep, I'd just hibernate as well in case you'd wake me up again in the middle of the night.

I strictly prohibit myself for not blogging during the office hours simply because I think it's not worth the time to spend all those missing hours of being your mom just to be online. I feel guilty every time I do something unnecessary when I'm away from you. Because I feel that you have to sacrifice to have my absence and yet on the other part of the world your mom is doing something not worthwhile. Even if no Internet means boring but you see, the more work I can cover everyday the more reward I can gain at the end of the day. Where am I during lunch hour? You know I choose visiting you at the day care than gossipping with my fellow girlfriends in the pantry. (Even though that's one of the best things happen in the office besides receiving the pay slip!) Nothing more heart melting than to look at your big smile when you see I'm coming.

Blogging is the last thing I would want to do especially when I calculate all those hours wasted. But since I don't have any diary and yet the baby record book which I was supposed to fill in 8 months ago is still neatly placed on the book shelve, untouched. So now I'm gaining my so called spirit again to blog, and at the same time, my friends and family still have the chance to know you, be it only through this media, but it does mean something to me.

So where am I? At the moment I'm finishing my last line, trying to publish this entry and wishing you are not waking up to play for at least the next couple of hours. It's 12:44 a.m., by the way.

Kelakar Sarawak

Wonder why "Kelakar Sarawak"? It actually means "cakap bahasa sarawak." Or in Kelantanese the term used is "kecek".

To kelakar bahasa Sarawak is easy peasy. If you're not used to hear it, it may sound like Tagalog. LOL. The language is also confusing in term of the vocabulary used. if we mention Bahasa Sarawak, it is actually the language of the sarawakian malays. As for ibanese, bidayuh, melanau, orang ulu n etc, they got their own dialects. But when those etnic groups communicate among each other, they use Bahasa Sarawak. So Bahasa Sarawak is like a bridge of the communication among the various ethnic groups.

Here are a few basic words in Bahasa Sarawak, who knows somebody wants to visit Sheraz here ^_^, so you may want to know a little :-

Kamek:I
Kitak:You
Nya:He/She
Sidak:They
Tok:This
Ya:That
Aok:Yes
Sik:No
Sitok:Here
Sia/Sinun:There
Maok:Want
Polah:Do
Nyaman:Delicious
Kacak:Pretty
Belon:Airplane
Gelombong:Balloon

There goes my list. There are more verbs and nouns but for the basic I guess it should be enough.

So I'd like to make a simple sentence here, e.g:
He is not there.
In Bahasa Sarawak it would be:
Nya sik ada sia.

Let's add in a verb, e.g:
I don't want that.
It should be:
Kamek sik maok ya.

Weird huh? But interesting. Oh and don't get confused with ballon and the airplane.
