Just a Picture of Myself

MCPD: 36 weeks 2 days

Revealing my pic on the blog. This picture was taken when I was 32 weeks. I'm slightly bigger now. When I say slightly it means really slight. People keep 'complaining' that I seem to be carrying small. My doctor said the size of the baby is okay, everything is fine. I just hope that my LO is growing the way he should be.

Postpartum Changes

Childbirth definitely left some changes on me physically. The latest I got is losing my hair! It's horrifying to find my hair falling out by the handful! It makes me not want to comb it. I was starting to think that something was seriously wrong with me, then suddenly I recalled kak Wina's post some time ago. Guess what losing hair after giving birth is normal. Theoretically my hair should be back to its normal thickness within another six months or so. Hope I'll be noticing 'baby hair' growing out soon. Or I'll be freaking out each day.

On top of that, I got jelly belly. Although it doesn't look fat but it's getting flabby and I think I need to get rid of it. Is it possible to get it back to the pre-pregnancy shape?

Anyway, seriously I'm not complaining.

One of the good things I notice is that I now have less skin breakouts. yay! ..and I'm getting slim - to be exact I'm getting skinny.

*1st pic was taken when I was 38 weeks and 2 days pregnant

*2nd one was taken a week after confinement ( as of today, I'm actually skinnier than that).

DH prefers my old shape though. He once made a joke of me. He said he mistakenly thought I was a coat hanger. (?) : Well understandable, I can tolerate the teasing. But this is good enough for record though cause once I'm getting fat, he should remember what he has complained. lol

My Little Hero

I used to feel subtle, bubble like movements, slower, rolling kicks on my tummy. But these days the little guy seems to be moving really hard. He's been SUPER active from one end to another, all the time through out the day and night. Yes, no more butterflies. His hands and legs seem to be much bigger that when he kicks and punches I can even feel my whole body vibrating.

Last time the kicking thing felt so bubbly but now it hurts! I'm afraid if my skin would crack or tear off when he stretches. But no worries, this whole thing is actually not as creepy as my graphic explanation. Most of the time DH and I feel it's funny to see my tummy vibrating and shaking. The LO likes to make my tummy look funny in shape. His stretched body or hands would make my tummy look odd..

I know in few weeks time, LO's movement will be settled down a bit as the tummy will be getting a lot squishier for him and there will be not as much space for the acrobatic activities. When that happens, I hope he'll have his head down since at the moment his position is still breeched, and that worries me a lot!

I told my mom about the LO's activities. My mom said 'my hero' is doing well and healthy. Amin.

Belly Revealed

The last two weeks are like the time when people should know that I'm pregnant when they look at me. Those who didn't know about my pregnancy would say something like "Dona, you're pregnant! I just noticed. How far along are you?"

When I posted my first 'boo-lat' picture, it was the day when some people in the office stared at my belly. I guess that day the belly started popping obviously more than the previous days. Since then I put aside all my usual office attires which are shirts and started wearing longer blouses.

Today from certain angle I maybe look more like a fat big belly lady than a pregnant one. At this stage people like to stare at my belly with confused look. As if they don't believe that I'm pregnant or what so ever. I'm not sure whether this is only my feeling. I feel like want to tell them "hello I'm pregnant here." DH said people like to look at pregnant bellies, so it means I just have to deal with it.

Boxing Ring in My Tummy

I can feel the baby kicks! I don't know whether this is too early or not but I know those bubbles and butterflies I've been feeling which previously I thought were gases are actually kicks. I started feeling movements last week. But I couldn't be sure since I was in the was-that-a-kick-or-only-gas state. Only lately the movements have been stronger and I can feel it regularly. That makes me sure those must be movements and kicks. It's so amazing. LO is still tiny but he kicks hard already, could it be possible because he is a he? I keep thinking I'd be in trouble in another few months when his legs are bigger and stronger. LOL I love it though.

Baby Bump or Lovely Fat Lump?

Showing or not showing? I was wondering. When the doctor did the ultrasound scanning the position of the doppler was way below the belly button. The same thing also happened last week during the first scan. There's no way around the button. I got this conclusion that the LO is actually still sitting at the lower part, not exactly around the tummy. Fine. The thing is, belly already started to stick out and I know this has something to do with the pregnancy. Because:-

#1 I haven't gained any weight
#2 I don't have a full stomach
#3 I don't feel gassy
#4 I never had an obvious fat tummy

So I did some googling and found out that during this stage the uterus has actually grown a bit and so other things have to move father up. The body somehow does have to make room, as everything shifts around the uterus before it begins to grow out. This makes sense.

So to answer my own question I conclude that I am showing even if it's neither a baby bump nor a lovely fat lump.

Note: I should add the "lovely" word to make myself happy *grin*
