It's Like a Female Version of Sheraz

This is not a coincidence. I was browsing my laptop when I found this little girl's photo. And yes, it's actually a girl who was wearing her brother's army costume. So I tried to compare the picture with Sheraz's, and I got this.

His fringe was long, so last month my dad was supposed to trim it a bit. What happened was he did mistakenly cut it slanted. So he fixed the bangs resulting in having them too short. Today they're longer so the little boy's looking less funny. Everyone said he looks like these kids~**

Studio Photoshoots

I've been wanting to do a studio photoshoot for Sheraz but still haven't got the chance. Wanting to get studio like shots at home, but well I got no prop and talent, perhaps. Sheraz is no longer a little baby, so I have missed the baby shoots already. Though he's a big baby now and probably will still look cute in portraits, I'm thinking hundred times to bring him to the studio knowing that he's a one active-barely-sit-still boy.

Recently my brother sent me a few studio portraits of his son who's younger than Sheraz by 28 days. They're so cute! Since Sheraz hasn't got one, so I'm posting Arsyad's here.

and I just can't hold it. Let me manipulate one of them a bit :D

Little Sleepy Head

He was once a little baby. Time flies. He's gonna be a year old soon!

**When he was much younger he spent most of his time sleeping. Lots of pictures taken show him slumbering. Nowadays it's a bit hard to take one while he's asleep. It's because he doesn't like to take a nap and I just don't feel to take it while he sleeps at night.

That's what DH replied when his boss asked why he had to write a new one.

Warning: This might happen if you don't put your valuables properly. Especially when you got a little rabbit somebody who's still exploring what else he could do with the handy tools, called teeth.

Sheraz is 6 months and 4 weeks old

That also applies to Baby Bites Bunda! Ouch* He got FOUR more front teeth, the top ones! So now all together is 6 numbers.

Bunda's Note: Been busy. Posting that would be something. LOL.. and I got a lot of things to write actually. It's just Time doesn't allow.

Sheraz is 6 months, 1 week and 1 day old

The day Sheraz hit the 6 month mark was the day we moved him to his own room. We have been planning for it and have decided to wait until he is 6 months old.

And so now the time has come. These are few reasons why we want to 'let him go':-

First reason is because he tends to be restless when we're around. I don't want him to hear us and wake him up since we always sleep later than him.

Second is because we want him to get used to it and cultivate this habit. The same as our decision of not letting him sleep in our bed.

Third is because we hope that Sheraz will be more likely to grow into an independent and confident child. As long as he's happy and feel secured, he will not be worried about sleeping alone, as this is what he has come to expect.

Fourth is because we have set his room before he was born. And me, being a neat-freak, like to have his cot to belong to the room because it's cute. (I know I'm a freak)

Fifth is because we need privacy and we need to sleep better too!

Monitor is not included in our budget for the time being. So we keep his and our doors opened. His room is the opposite of ours, right down a very short hallway so I can hear him anytime with my supermom ears.

The first night he woke up 3 times. I guess he was trying to adapt himself to a new ambiance. The second night he settled back into routine, which is waking up once at night and wakes up for the day around 5.30 am. After a few days his sleep routines became little longer. Sometimes I leave him alone in his room, slowly he has started recognizing his room and everything in it. Alhamdulillah he's fine.

My Bald Baby

It's Sheraz's new look. Now he's totally bald :(

DH has been having the urge to shave the baby's head bald. Sheraz has been having hair loss since he was two months. And recently he got bald patches with the largest spot was right at the back of his head. That's where he mostly rests his head when sleeping, always in the same position. At first I didn't agree but today I made the decision to let go the hair since the bald patches looked messy. So I let DH do it, with the hope that Sheraz will grow better and even new hair.

It took about 30-45 minutes to do this hard job, and he wasn't asleep when we were doing it. When we were done I was a bit sad, I miss his hair! So I tried to please myself by thinking that bald is not bad, (though the cute face does still look cute even he's now hairless). Suddenly there's one celebrity came across my mind. LOL.

What is going wrong?

Since last week at 3 months and a half Sheraz has been fussier than ever (not to count his growth spurt when he was 3-6 weeks). He can be cranky at times. One moment he's so happy and one moment he can cry and sometimes scream. I thought there must be something. I tried to check his body all over, changed clothes, tried putting him to bed earlier. Nothing seems to be wrong. I thought it could be teething (?) I know he's only 14 weeks old and teething might be too early. But shifting under the gums may has started and it's achy and painful. ( I guess) Some of the symptoms of teething are drooling, wakefulness, crankiness, crying, biting, chewing; and Sheraz is having most of those. He's been drooling since he turned 3 months old and he's been chewing like he's eating something. And most of the time he sucks his hand.

Yesterday he cried and cried. He didn't want milk, didn't want to play or sit on his chair. When I carried he screamed. Since I tought it could be teething so I let him bite his teething toy. And there he took and enjoyed it. Poor him.

One more possibility I can think of is colic. He has been experiencing colic few times. But I just have the feeling that this is different. I hope Sheraz can get over what he's experiencing and I hope I can have more clues and be able to help him.

Sleeps like Bunda

This is what the ayah says. "Tidur macam bunda."

He sleeps sometimes with his eyes open and mostly with his mouth open.

At the moment..

Now I'm typing with one hand. Sheraz has been sleeping in my arm for nearly one and a half hour. Twice I tried to move him to his cot but he woke up. So I have him on my lap and he sleeps soundly. Even though my hand feels numb I just don't want to wake him up. Wait for another half an hour then I'll move. I guess he misses me or afraid I'd leave him again or maybe both.

I love my little one.

ps. too bad it's getting dark here. I wish I could snap a picture.

Since the baby was born I feel like he's attached on me most of the time. Nursing is a new round-the-clock- job for me. I am enjoying it even though it's pretty exhausting. These are the moments that only I can share with the baby. Chances are that once he's weaned, I'll be looking back and missing these many hours of nursing. So I've been recording them in pictures.

Before: Getting impatient

During: Enjoying

After: Feeling content and falling a sleep in my arm

... and sometimes smiling showing that he's happy
